IMF mission to visit Iceland 4-14 June
A mission from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) under the leadership of mission chief Daria Zakharova concluded a two-week visit to Iceland today. The Fund conducts regular appraisals of member countries’ economies under Article IV of its Articles of Agreement. A report containing the mission’s findings will be issued following discussion by the Fund’s Executive Board. The mission is also an element in the post-programme monitoring of Iceland’s Stand-By Arrangement with the IMF, which concluded in August 2011. Meetings were held with the authorities, members of Parliament, the university community, private sector representatives, and the social partners.
