Fiscal policy largely deals with how the government obtains revenue from taxes levied on people's wages, various products, and more. Fiscal policy then has to focus on how the revenue the government receives through these and other means, such as loans, is allocated to spending in various areas such as welfare, education, security, and public sector projects. A large part of healthcare services are financed in this way, as is part of the school system, road construction, and more. When we talk about fiscal policy, we are referring to the framework that the Althingi sets for the Government and state institutions at any given time through financial policy, financial planning, and the budget for a specific period.
