The Central Bank of Iceland operates a help desk for anyone who may have questions concerning the supervision of the financial market with regard to FinTech.

The Central Bank invites entities that provide or intend to provide services in the field of financial technology (FinTech) to fill out a checklist about their activities and send it to the experts of the Central Bank at fintech@sedlabanki.is. This will help to determine, among other things, whether a licence is needed for the activity. If needed, it is also possible to communicate further and get more detailed information from the Central Bank.

  1. Fill in the checklist and send it to the Central Bank at fintech@sedlabanki.is
  2. The Central Bank will send a response within 10 working days.
  3. Following this you can get advice by phone for a maximum of 30 minutes or request a meeting with experts.

You can also send a general inquiry regarding the supervision of financial technology to fintech@sedlabanki.is. General queries are also answered within 10 days.
