Total turnover of domestic payment cards amounted to 137.3 b.kr. in June 2025, where the total turnover of debit cards was 61.8 b.kr. and the turnover of credit cards was 75.5 b.kr.
Domestic turnover of payment cards in Icelandic retail outlets amounted to 101.7 b.kr. in June, an increase by 3.7 b.kr. compared to June 2024. This turnover comprised of 45.6 b.kr. debit cards turnover and of 56.0 b.kr. turnover of credit cards respectively. Turnover of domestic payment cards in retail outlets abroad amounted to 32.7 b.kr. in June 2025, which is 2.7 b.kr. higher turnover compared to June 2024.
Total turnover of foreign payment cards in Iceland was 40.0 b.kr. in June 2025, which is 3.7 b.kr. higher turnover compared to June 2024.
