Total turnover of domestic payment cards amounted to 128.5 b.kr. in April 2025, where the total turnover of debit cards was 55.2 b.kr. and the turnover of credit cards was 73.3 b.kr.

Domestic turnover of payment cards in Icelandic retail outlets amounted to 95.3 b.kr. in April, an increase by 6.0 b.kr. compared to April 2024. This turnover comprised of 41.1 b.kr. debit cards turnover and of 54.1 b.kr. turnover of credit cards respectively. Turnover of domestic payment cards in retail outlets abroad amounted to 30.1 b.kr. in April 2025, which is 5.8 b.kr. higher turnover compared to April 2024.

Total turnover of foreign payment cards in Iceland was 23.5 b.kr. in April 2025, which is 2.1 b.kr. higher turnover compared to April 2024.
