The report of the Monetary Policy Committee of the Central Bank of Iceland to Parliament on the Committee’s work during the first half of 2026 has been published. Extensive supplementary material is included with the report. The report covers the Monetary Policy Committee's decisions on the application of monetary policy instruments and inflation developments during the period from January to June 2026.
The Act on the Central Bank of Iceland provides that the Monetary Policy Committee of the Central Bank of Iceland shall submit a report to Parliament on its work twice a year and that the contents of the report shall be discussed in the parliamentary committee designated by the Speaker of Parliament. The report has been discussed by the Economic Affairs and Trade Committee of Parliament. Since the previous report was submitted to Parliament, the Committee has held three regular meetings, and its most recent statement was published on 20 May 2026.
