Governor participates in 200th anniversary conferences at central banks in Norway

On 16 June, Governor Már Guðmundsson participated in a 200th anniversary conference held by Norges Bank. The conference was entitled: The Interaction Between Monetary Policy and Financial Stability – Going Forward. Towards the end of the conference, the five Nordic central bank governors participated in a panel discussion entitled: The Nordic Experience. The Governor’s introductory remarks focused on movement of capital and systemic risk in Iceland. On 14 June, two days before the conference, the Governor attended Norges Bank’s official bicentenary celebration in Trondheim, where the king of Norway was the special guest and many of Norway's leaders in the fields of monetary policy and financial stability gave speeches.
