The Fall of the Icelandic Banking System in 2008
On 4 March 2014 at 3 pm a seminar on this topic will be held in the Central Bank of Iceland's conference room Sölvhóll.
Presenter is Gudrun Johnsen, assistant professor of finance at the University of Iceland and former senior researcher of Iceland’s Special Investigation Commission.
Iceland's banking collapse has been the largest, relative to the size of the economy, suffered by any country in modern economic history. In this seminar, Gudrun Johnsen provides an overview of the methodology and conclusions of the Icelandic Parliament's Special Investigation Commission on the causes and events leading up to the fall of the Icelandic banking system, as presented in her book; Bringing Down the Banking System: Lessons from Iceland.
The seminar will be in English.
