Corrections regarding the external position of the Icelandic economy and the capital and financial account for Q4/2007

Cor­rec­tions re­gard­ing the ex­ternal po­s­i­tion of the Icelandic eco­nomy and the cap­ital and fin­an­cial ac­count for Q4/2007

An error has been revealed in the accounting for foreign assets at year-end 2007, which means that the external position of the Icelandic economy was negative in the amount of 1,584 b.kr. instead of 1,845 b.kr., as was previously reported.

Furthermore, an inconsistency has been revealed in one item of the capital and financial account during the fourth quarter, which increases the errors and omissions item by 644 b.kr.

The appropriate figures have been updated and corrected on the Bank’s website. The Central Bank apologises for these errors.
