Jón Sigurðsson, Governor of the Central Bank of Iceland, was appointed Minister of Industry and Commerce in the Government of Iceland, effective from June 15, 2006. The Prime Minister of Iceland has appointed Ingimundur Friðriksson acting Governor until August 31, 2006. Other Governors are Davíð Oddsson, who is Chairman of the Board of Governors, and Eiríkur Guðnason.
